Responsibilities

The Instructional Designer, Sales Training Operations will work with Sales Training Managers to design and develop onsite, online and mobile learning solutions delivered to the Otsuka Sales division.  S/he will be responsible for designing, developing, reviewing, and revising training content using a variety of media development tools. This position will require application of instructional design theory and methods and use of learning technology to create a variety of learning solutions that improve business results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform needs analysis and develop requirements for specific training interventions.
  • Utilize instructional design principles and models to manage the course development process for new and existing training content.
  • Lead the design and development of training products and initiatives, including product launch training programs, training on disease state, selling and business management  skills  ensuring an integrated approach with the clinical and the sales management curricula.
  • Effectively establish and sustain relationships with subject matter experts to solicit content.
  • Ensure ongoing analysis of basic and advanced training needs based on current and future requirements of the business and the changing internal/external environment.
  • Assist Sales Training Operations leadership with evaluating the effectiveness of the training initiatives and developing recommendations for training improvements.
  • Manage training vendors and provide quality control of the vendor-developed training products.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement new instructional technologies, innovative instructional practices, and new course delivery methods.
  • Manage Media Lab.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Media Development, Education, or related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
  •  5+ years of learning design experience with a focus on adult learning principles.
  • Experience of designing for Pharmaceutical Sales is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in partnering with trainers, SMEs, and learning consultants  to translate business objectives into effective learning solutions.
  • Ability to effectively process technical and scientific information for training design purposes.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience designing  innovative and interactive instructional design solutions: e-learning courses, interactive videos, podcasts, e-books, simulations, serious games, virtual classrooms.
  • Experience designing interactive and engaging classroom learning experiences.
  • Production experience with Lectora, Simwriter, Articulate, Prezi, Adobe InDesign, as well as experience using video and audio hardware and software is strongly preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new design software and media production tools.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize business needs and make timely decisions based on available information.
