    DELIVER A PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPERIENCE THAT IS MEASURABLE, CREATIVE & CLEAR

     

    Strategic public relations professional seeking to cultivate positive relationships with influencers, strengthen Otsuka’s brand engagement and increase our brand equity.

Otsuka is seeking a savvy Public Relations expert who can deliver positive outcomes on corporate and brand initiatives, strengthen media coverage and think strategically.

     

    Our PR and Media Relations professionals work collaboratively with executives, business stakeholders, alliances, the media and key influencers to increase Otsuka brand awareness, differentiate our company and products in the industry, position our executives as thought leaders and protect our corporate image and reputation.

     

    • Serve as a liaison with our agency partners, affiliates and regional sister companies to coordinate, organize, and implement numerous projects and programs to increase brand and product awareness while establishing fundamental partnerships with the media on behalf of Corporate Communications Team. Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, a must. Establish solid relationships with journalists. Seek high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
    • Create and manage a multi-faceted PR plan that aligns with corporate objectives. Coordinate PR activities and execute across multiple commercial brands and R&D business through product life-cycles and/or corporate narrative. 
    • Established and solid relationships with journalists is a preference. Seek high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
    • Develop segmented messages and supporting materials i.e. FAQs, infographics, videos, etc., with the extended Corporate Communications team. Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations. Develop robust plans that integrate digital and social media components and engage audiences across traditional and new media.
    • Secure speaking engagements for thought leaders for industry conferences and Otsuka-managed events; end-to-end management of some events may be required. Includes media training for events.
    • Develop targeted plan for awards submission and selection process. 
    • Produce reputation management plan and messaging to create neutral/positive coverage.
    • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis. Demonstrate an increase in public awareness of the organization and/or products. 
    • Build relationships with thought leaders, advocacy groups and local/national organizations as needed to grow industry awareness
    • Liaise with PR agencies including managing relationship, work efficiency, budget, and project management.
    • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting the pharmaceutical and digital industry and make appropriate recommendations 
    • Work closely with the communications team to ensure appropriate pull-through across various platforms.

    Travel (approximately 15-25%) 

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • BA/MA degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
    • 7 - 10 years of experience in a Corporate Communications environment
    • Proven working experience in public relations, preferably pharmaceutical, mental health and/or tech industry
    • Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets, preferred
    • Excellent computer and detail-oriented skills
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Excellent budget management skills

    Preferred:

    • Pharmaceutical company experience
    • PR and/or Journalism background
    • Solid knowledge of social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
