This position reports to the US Project Management Lead in the OAPI Marketing Operations Organization. Marketing Operations provides operational support and project management for OAPI brand teams and Commercial Operations Functional Teams.
The individual selected for this position will be primarily responsible for leading Marketing Projects and key business initiatives. This position will provide direct support to brand teams to plan and execute launch preparation, brand planning and other priority commercial support needs. Responsibilities will include Project Management of full initiatives or major workstreams (e.g., Strategic and Tactical Planning, Brand and Competitive Deep Dives, etc.), meeting facilitation, creating Sr. Management presentations, and developing and maintaining project plans.
This role includes working cross-functionally with all commercial teams including: Brand Teams, Sales, Business Analytics/ Market Research, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales Training, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, Promotional Compliance, EQC, and others. This role also requires close coordination with the brand’s alliance partner, with a need to navigate the additional time and effort required to efficiently gain alignment across another organization’s stakeholders and views.
The Sr. Manager, Marketing Operations will play a crucial role in the current business operations of the brands he/she supports, and as importantly, in the addition of new indications and formulations. Therefore, this position will have the potential to grow along with the brand as it evolves.
The right candidate for this position will not only have strong project management skills, but also the ability to think strategically, adding value to the brand team beyond basic operations. Examples include taking initiative in problem solving, anticipating issues before they arise, forming productive cross-functional and key stakeholder relationships, improving existing processes, and structuring presentation storylines.
Marketing Project Management Lead
• Product Launch:
o Partner with Brand Leadership, Manage Major Marketing Workstreams internally and with cross-functional and alliance partners
o Own Overall Launch Readiness, drive launch to major milestones
o Lead launch reporting and decision-making processes
o Coordinate with Global Marketing team for launch transition to US team
• Brand Planning:
o Partner and align with Brand Leadership to create framework and plan
o Synthesize ideas and input into strategies and tactics
o Drive process to gain alignment, meet milestones and deadlines
o Provide support for building, refining, and gaining approval for the brand budget
• Governance/ Major Meeting Materials:
o Partner with Brand Leadership to prepare presentations internally and with cross-functional and alliance partners
o Gather/ synthesize relevant content
o Provide input into contents and story
o Present as appropriate
Cross Functional Commercial Projects Lead
• Product Launch:
o Overall Launch Leadership across commercial functions- Engage with key functions at relevant time in launch process, hold them accountable, raise issues and risks, help team’s problem solve
o Ownership of overall Launch Plan, drive to larger goals
o Leverage Project Management Tools and Processes to maintain structured launch preparation (e.g. templates)
• Other Cross-Functional Projects:
o Lead Key Operational Workstreams Across Functions (e.g. Strategic Planning, Tactical Planning, Brand Budgeting, Governance Presentation Creation)
• Coordination/ Alignment with Alliance Counterparts.
• BA/BS degree
• Expertise in independently managing large projects with multiple workstreams
• Experience in managing parts or all of a pharmaceutical launch
• Experience partnering directly with brand teams and brand leadership
• Results-driven with a high sense of urgency and accountability: ability to meet business objectives, deliverables, and timely completion of initiatives with a cross-functional team
• Expertise with key business software including PowerPoint, and project management/ timeline software such as Microsoft Project
• High standards for accuracy in written and verbal communication
• Excellent interpersonal and communication/ presentation skills
• Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks to achieve established deadlines
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical market research and business analytics resources and ability to incorporate into strategies and materials
• Strong managerial, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
