Responsibilities

Senior Manager, Business Information Management serves as the primary connection between the Otsuka’s Commercial functions and the Information Technology organization and is accountable for identifying, qualifying, and driving adoption of technology solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. In addition, the candidate will focus on building relationship and influencing technology recommendation and decisions, ensures technology investments are aligned with business objectives, are scalable for future growth, and are designed to maximize utility across the entire Otsuka organization.

 

The Business Information Management will be part of a group accountable for the overall technology management supporting Otsuka’s Commercial Brand Marketing and Digital Medicines organization business functions. Key responsibilities include collaborating with and influencing key business stakeholders in Digital / Marketing Information Technology (IT) solutions. Lead cross functional initiatives related use of technology for Brand Marketing initiatives supporting commercial business; collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers and opportunities within the business and a multi-year technology enablement strategy.

 

Successful candidates will have digital Marketing background with focus on Information Technology, good understanding of digital marketing principles and various systems, applications, and environments; Demonstrated experience in Digital Marketing (Web, Mobile, Campaigns, and Social) and/or Marketing Insights/ Analytics & Reporting; In addition, the candidate will work other cross-functional IT services groups to ensure successful alignment, integration, and enablement of Project Delivery, Business Architecture, Production Support, and Technology shared services functions.

 

1. Relationship Management:

  • Accountable for overall health status of relationship with business customers. Ensure that Project Delivery Services and Business Production Support Services are meeting the customer need and be an escalation point for business customers if needed.
  • Manage technology-related communications to stakeholders within the business
  • Ensure that implementation projects and business production systems are delivering agreed upon value
  • Assist business customers in identifying appropriate contacts 
  • Present actionable analyses and recommendations to executives and non-technical resources to drive business decisions.
  • Work closely with Analytics teams to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of the Commercial Analytics and Data function.
  • Manage priorities and clearly communicate expectations to department heads and the executive team.
  • within IT who can address infrastructure, support or other enterprise-wide IT needs
  • Partners with Application Solutions and vendors to define scope and functions of application systems, by serving as the conduit between the customer community and the software development team.
  • Translates high level business requirements into user requirements and functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to user requirements throughout the development life cycle. 

2. Strategic Technology Roadmap and Value Creation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers and opportunities within the business. Inform and influence business strategies bringing current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems for competitive advantage
  • Evaluate current technology stack and articulate strengths/weaknesses
  • Drive the definition of technology objectives and recommend industry-leading solutions to support business needs
  • Facilitate prioritization of technology needs with business customers
  • Develop a business aligned IT strategy and roadmap that addresses operational contingencies
  • Leads vendor selection and application/system design workshops; and collaborates on the redesign of business processes and documentation.

3. Technology Opportunity Qualification

  • Help to identify business improvement opportunities
  • Identify technology solutions to support business improvement
  • Evaluate technology solutions based on business value and identify trade-offs
  • Manage Otsuka’s IT needs as a portfolio of projects
  • Develop and manage capability improvement strategy
  • Develop a detailed business case which provides enough detail on business/user requirements, project schedule, costs, and resource (both business and IT) requirements to accurately justify an IT expenditure within 80-90% confidence

4. On-Going Business Maintenance

  • Provide guidance and advice on changes required to support existing solutions
  • Review business case for technology upgrades and releases
  • Interface with other IT service groups to ensure successful alignment and enablement of Otsuka IT objectives
  • Incorporate yearly support budget into overall portfolio budget planning

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Digital Marketing background with focus on Information Technology
  • Through understanding of digital marketing principles and various systems, applications, and environments;
  • Develop metrics and measurements to determine impact of the brand solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in Digital Marketing and Marketing Insights/Analytics & Reporting
  • Related work experience in a Business Analyst/Business Liaison capacity working on Digital Marketing / Analytics programs
  • Working knowledge of Web analytics toolsets (i.e. Google, Adobe, Analytics, Omniture, etc)
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry Commercial data is a big plus
  • Program management skills, Project management principles and software development life cycle management

Education and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems related field, Master’s or MBA degree preferred
  • 7-9 years’ experience in Commercial Analytics Information Systems
  • Working effectively with senior business and IT leadership
  • Partnering with senior leadership to establish a portfolio of IT related priorities 
  • Developing a well-thought out business case and project justification
  • Managing their time across multiple projects 
  • Working independently and as part of a project team
  • Managing Project Managers and Business Analysts and providing timely and effective feedback on their performance
  • Delivering effective presentations to Senior Leadership
  • Developing detailed budget estimates, project plans, and identifying change management and communication strategies to support successful implementation of technology within the business
  • Facilitating requirements definition and process analysis & design sessions with business customers
