Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Client Technology will be responsible for the overall client experience for all laptop, tablet, smart device, common software, and printing technology. This encompasses the evaluation of emerging technologies for customer fit and value; exploring methods to improve the end user computing experience; copy and print services; management of software delivery; client equipment asset lifecycle management, and end user Level 1 and 2 support. This position will oversee the deployment of software across all issued devices, Otsuka’s smartphone program, and end user support (Help Desk, and Business Services Delivery Desk). They will manage the end user component of Microsoft and Adobe license agreements. They will mine and review support metrics and explore opportunities to expand a self-service support model and drive down call volume. They will maintain a strong partnership with the OIT to keep them abreast of technologies that may bring value, and to meet their software deployment needs. They will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, resolve, and communicate device UX issues to maximize the benefit of technology systems investments.

 

  • Possess a deep knowledge and understanding of laptop, tablet, desktop and smart phone operating systems and their UX across a wide range of vendors.
  • Lead the exploration and evaluation of emerging technology trends and developments with an eye for potential client or business value.
  • Lead and evangelize Otsuka’s desktop strategy.
  • Direct and manage activities of vendor(s) responsible for day to day operation of related services.
  • Direct the management and oversight of vendors responsible for software delivery; asset management; end user support; and copy/print services.
  • Provide remote desktop access/control services to the Client Services teams in support of applications.
  • Partner with the OIT on the technologies available to them for the deployment of applications and patches and ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Provide oversight for deployment package prototypes; package creation and testing; Authorize deployment turnover to Help Desk. Ensure required compliance documentation is complete in collaboration with Quality Management.
  • Ensure deployment activities adhere to the approved life cycle development methodologies, standards and procedures for systems development
  • Develop and evolve Otsuka’s print imaging roadmap. Lead evaluation of technologies and services, either emerging or currently available, in the print imaging area. Propose equipment recommendations to Management.
  • Manage Otsuka’s technology asset lifecycle. Provide budget and forecast input, seek input from customers on equipment selection, work with Sourcing on vendor selection.
  • Oversee asset management activities including periodic inventories as required
  • Manage cellular services for VP/FIT/EXPAT smartphones in addition to tablet data services.

Qualifications

    • Minimum 5-10 years of professional experience with general networking, routing, switching, security groups, and operating system with multi-vendor technologies
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines
    • Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of networks, network topologies, network security, PC workstations (configuration and connectivity), Smart Devices, network servers, application software, and troubleshooting techniques.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff; authoring, editing and presenting technical documents to a C-Level audience
    • Strong knowledge of desktop and Smart Device operating systems.
    • Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills with a strong customer focus and ability to work as a team member
  • Exceptional trouble-shooting and analytical problem solving skills related to application function

 

  • Familiar with requirements of 21 CFR Part 11
  • Experience working with off-shore teams.
  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
